2013년 가을부터 독립 운동가의 이야기를 그래피티로 거리에 남기고 있다.
우리가 알고 있던 많은 역사적 사실들 중에 왜곡된 정보들이 많이 있다.
대한민국을 지키기 위해 자신의 목숨을 바쳤던 수많은
독립 운동가들의 이야기를 대중과 소통해야겠다는 생각에 작업을 시작하게 되었다.
2013년 9월 28일 유관순 열사를 시작으로 삼청동 골목에 스텐실 기법으로 그래피티를
남겼다.
“그분들이 살아 계신다면 지금 시대에는 어떤 모습일까?” 라는 콘셉트로 작품을
남기기 시작했다.
유관순, 윤봉길, 안창호, 박열, 이봉창, 김구, 안중근, 김란사
더 많은 독립운동가 그리고 더 알려지지 않은 우리의 수많은 독립운동가의 이야기를 하고 싶었지만, 공간적인 제약으로 더 이상 진행하지 못하였다.
현재는 캔버스와 디지털아트를 통해 온,오프라인의 다른 장소에 작품을 이어가고 있다.
거리에 작품을 남기면 대중이 그분들에 대한 이야기를 공유하고, 미흡한 설명은 찾아보며 소통하는 공간이 된다. 전시에 대한 특성 때문에 현재는 캔버스에 작품을 옮겨 전시를 하고 있지만 그래피티는 거리에서 많은 사람들과 만나고 이야기하고 사라지는 것이 진정한 그래피티로써의 매력이 라고 생각한다.
또한 우리의 역사를 이어가려면 다음 세대의 관심을 불러 일으켜야 한다고 생각한다.
더욱 더 다양한 방법으로 독립운동의 역사, 우리의 자랑스러운 역사를 더 멋지고 감각적으로 표현하여 자연스럽게 지금의 젊은 세대들이 즐기고 멋지고 자랑스럽게 기억 할 수 있는 역사이자 하나의 문화가 되길 바란다.
그래피티 아트 뿐만 아니라 다양한 우리의 문화를 통해서 앞으로도 더 많은 작품과 프로젝트를 진행할 계획이다.
